Born and raised in Jacksonville, naturally I thought it was the best place to open my shop. Before this became a reality though I spent many years in the industry honing my skills. It started as a young boy when I would fix bikes that I dug out of the trash.

I raced BMX in the 70's and when I started racing Expert class I had to travel to National races. I wanted to see races of this caliber come to Jax and called the National Bicycle League. This put into motion the NBL track that exists at Ray Greene Park in Jacksonville today.

In 1980 I got a job in a bike shop. From there I progressed to working as a bike rep for a small manufacturer out of Jax. I was responsible for bike design, manufacturing, packaging and training employees on assembly and wheel building. I was also responsible for distribution and became familiar with every dealer throughout Fl, Ga, NC and SC.

From 1990-1997 I worked as Manager for American Bicycle Company at Jax Beach. During this time the store's revenue almost tripled. In 1997 Under my Management American was the only shop in North Florida to be voted Bicycle Dealer Showcase Magazine's Top 100 shops in the USand was also named Folio Magazine's Best Bike Shop. While at American I got together with my friend Matt Rini and Mike Ryan of the Jaguars and we started a program repairing and building donated bikes for needy children. Over a ten year period we donated over 1000 bicycles to the Baptist Home, catholic charities and the Jaguar Foundation.

It was also during this time that the Mt bike craze began and I cut some the first trails in Hanna Park. The first one is actually named Drew's trail and is still popular today. John White Sr and his family followed up and cut many of the other trails that are also still enjoyed today. I have also been involved in Triathlons by volunteering locally at races, providing bikes for many of the areas top amateur Triathletes and providing support for local teams.

In 1997, I took my dream job as a rep for Cannondale, the best bike company in the world. I took over the number one territory in the nation and continued to grow sales for four straight years. I was the only rep to do this. In addition to sales, I was also responsible for building, repairing, putting on clinics, working races as well as building and maintaining relationships with many of Cycling's top athletes and Mechanics. Nobody in North Florida has built, sold, or repaired as many bikes.

I grew up in Savannah, GA, and after my years in the northeast at Connecticut College I movedto Jacksonville to be in its great sunny climate and near family. As long as I can remember, I've loved biking, but it wasn't until 2005 that I grew to be interested in how bikes work. Around the same time, I rode a 1973 Raleigh road bike and just fell in love with how fast and fun a road bike can be - even on a vintage steel frame. It was then that I truly became obsessed with bikes.

Nearly a decade later, and I've collected my share of bikes. Depending on the ride, you might see me riding my Cannondale EVO road bike or Cannondale Flash 26" with Lefty Fork mountain bike. Aside from the weekly shop rides, so far my favorite road bike rides have been on the Kalanianaole Highway - Honolulu, HI, and in Fort Pickens in Pensacola, FL. On my mountain bike, my favorite rides have been in Snowbasin Huntsville, UT, and on the Fork Area Trail System in Augusta, GA. In the future, I'd love to take a dream bike-cation to participate in Tim Johnson's Ride on Washington (in support of People for Bikes) and also ride a fatbike on an Alaskan glacier to see the Northern Lights.

When I'm not on my bike or in the shop, I'm working as an advocate for cycling and cyclists in Jacksonville as Vice-Chairman of Jacksonville's Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC). Beyond my life in biking, I'm a lover of good food and eating it, spending time with my friends, watching documentaries, reading, and relaxing at home with my dog Mila and my cat Elfie. And, if I could offer you one book to read this year, it'd be Joyride by Mia Birk (http://www.miabirk.com/), hands down my favorite read.

I am twenty years old and returned from serving a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I graduated from Weber High School. During high school, I belonged to the following clubs: Ogden Camera Club, Weber High Snowboarding Club, and Ultimate Frisbee Club. I enjoy Scouting and earned my Eagle Scout in July 2010.

Hobbies are bike riding, rock climbing, photography, skiing, and archery. I love the outdoors and often go camping with my family. I biked 50 miles around Bear Lake in three hours. I have an outgoing personality and love to work with people.

Passionate about bikes, yoga, and happiness. Willing to help steer you towards your new ride in stride.

I'm a native to the Great State of Florida and have been cycling for about 7 years. I got intocycling a few years after moving to Jacksonville as a way of staying in shape after losing 60 pounds. The hidden benefit I found was it was also easier for me to commute and learn the streets around the city on bike. After 2 years of riding by myself I stumbled across the North Florida Bicycle Club and joined this amazing group of like-minded cyclists. After a few rides with NFBC I soon learned a bike is not just a bike. That led me to City Cycle where I purchased my first road bike'a Cannonade Synapse (a.k.a. Orange Blossom). I started riding with City Cycle on some of their group rides and instantly became a part of their family. Since then, I've acquired other bikes that I enjoy riding as well, like my Cannonade EVO (Green Apple) and my Cannonade Lexi Full Suspension MTB (Lady Bug). (I enjoy naming all my bikes, after all they are like family.)

As my love for bikes continued to grow over the years, I decided to make a career change and enrolled at the United Bicycle Institute in Portland, Oregon, to study the art of becoming a bicycle technician. The odds must have been in my favor 'cause after graduating from UBI a position opened at City Cycle for a bike tech. I applied and got hired in the shop on April of 2013.

Some of my favorite places to bike are all over Jacksonville, like Tillie Fowler and Hanna Park, New York City's 5 Boro Tour, and Bike Florida Tours throughout the state like the West Orange Trail in Orlando, Hawthorne Trail in Gainesville, and Silver Comet Trail in Atlanta. Future rides I look forward to include biking in Italy in the spring of 2015 and touring the US in 2017. When I'm not riding my bike, I enjoy playing music, crafts, and water sports. I feel so lucky to live in the greatest area of Jacksonville: Avondale/Riverside. We have some of the best places to eat. A few of my favorites are Mossfire, Moonriver Pizza, Carmine's, Pinegrove, Maple Street Biscuit, Biscotti's, Derby on Park, Mojo #4, and European Street.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, I've been cycling since 1993. My dad was an avid cyclist,so I took to it like water. So far, the best places I've ridden my bike are in North Carolina, in Pisgah and Black Mountain. In the future, I'd really love to take my road bike to travel the old cobblestones of France and percosos of Italy. I'd like also enjoy taking my mountain bike to the elevated trails in Washington State.

When I'm not biking or at City Cycle, you'll find me hanging out with and enjoying my family or taking the Subaru on a road trip.If you're thinking about buying me lunch, you should know I'm a big fan of many local restaurants here in Riverside; some of my favorite meals include Mossfire's fish tacos, Moon River Pizza, and Pinegrove Deli's club sandwich. Just saying.
